I discovered this scrumptious café in December 2013, thanks to my friend. She and her husband are friends with the owner and it was when she and I were looking at a map of Jelačić Square that she casually mentioned this place and pointed it out on the map.
I knew I had to try it! I have a major sweet tooth… I hear the word “sweets” and my blood sugar instantly plummets just so I’ll have to eat something sweet! Okay, that’s not true but I think you get my point.🍪
As an American, I’m always curious to try restaurants in other countries that claim to be American-style. The first thing you should know about this place is that it’s always packed! If you’re determined to eat here you might have to wait a few minutes for someone to leave in order to get a seat. Second – The hazelnut ice cream is delicious!
I have a confession. I actually went there two days in a row…
Now that I’ve discovered this place I realize that moving to Zagreb might be dangerous for me simply because I would be eating at this place every day!
The only minor drawback is that the music was a little bit too loud and I could hardly hear my friend. Despite that, the food is great and the decor is so flippin’ awesome! This place has a friendly atmosphere, good service and it’s a nice place to hang out overall.
If you’re ever in Zagreb, do go check it out. You’ll love it!
